This special edition takes you on a nostalgic journey through the greatest soundtracks from films and series across several decades. Test your knowledge as you put iconic songs in chronological order and relive the highlights of film and TV history.

Please note: this is an expansion!

To play this game you need at least one Hitster base game, such as the original Hitster, Hitster: Guilty Pleasures or Hitster: Summer Party.

How to play Hitster

1. First you pick a music card and scan the QR code with the Hitster app to play the song automatically on Spotify.
2. Then you guess when the song was released and place the card in the right spot in your music timeline.
3. Next you turn the music card over. Did you guess the year correctly? Then you keep the music card to build your timeline further.
4. As soon as you have ten cards in your timeline, you win the game!

Tip: adding the Hitster tokens to the mix makes the game even more exciting!

Different levels of play

Hitster has different levels of play, so the game is a challenge for every music lover!

• Pro You know your music! - Show how well you know artists and their songs.
• Expert Hardcore HITSTER! - You love music and know the title, artist and year by heart!
• Co-operative Work together! - Create one music timeline together with your friends.

Can you play Hitster without Spotify?

Yes. You can play HITSTER without a Spotify account, but then you will not get the best game experience. You will only hear 20 seconds of each song. Spotify offers a temporary free trial of Spotify Premium when you sign up for an account. Go to: https://www.spotify.com/nl/premium/

Can you play Hitster with YouTube, Apple Music, Deezer or another streaming service?

Yes you can, but in that case one player has to search for the song on the song card manually in their favourite music streaming service instead of scanning the card with the HITSTER app. You can choose one player to be DJ for the whole game OR take turns playing the song by passing your device to the next player each turn.

In short: Spotify Premium works best.
