Stroop

Ready to put your brain to work? Stroop is a small game with a big effect. In short games of about fifteen minutes you race each other to be the first to play out your stack of cards. Sounds easy, but it really isn't. Your head will do exactly the opposite of what you want. Each card shows one word. That word has a colour, a size, a letter style and a certain number of letters. You have to quickly read one word and link it to the description of another word. What it actually says doesn't matter for a moment. And when the rules suddenly flip in the second round, you have to reset your head all over again. Stroop is based on the real Stroop effect, a well-known phenomenon in which two parts of your brain get in each other's way. The result is a game full of laughter, wrong answers and that lovely moment when everyone hesitates at the same time. Perfect as a filler, for two players or with the whole family around the table.
