Deep in the Pacific, between steaming jungles and deserted beaches, a tense fight unfolds. Rifles in the Pacific takes you to the battlefields of the Second World War, all on your own. This is the second part in the RIFLES series by Gottardo Zancani and is built entirely around solo play. You set the pace, you make the choices and you feel the tension rise with every step. Instead of the familiar hex maps, you play on three beautiful, slightly abstract boards. They represent the jungles and beaches of the region and make every battlefield look different. You lead small groups of soldiers through eight different missions: from beach landings to defending along a river, patrols through thick undergrowth and attacks on enemy posts. Want more? Then link the missions together in an ongoing campaign. The beauty of this game lies in the surprise. By drawing tokens blind and rolling dice, you never know exactly what your opponent will do. It really feels like standing in the fog of war. Rifles in the Pacific fits in a small box, but offers hours of tactical fun. And handy: all the components also work together with Rifles in the Ardennes.
