The year is 1754 and North America is on edge. France and Great Britain both have thriving colonies, but the Ohio Valley is fiercely contested. The French have built a line of forts to protect their land, while George Washington readies an army to take the region. What began as a small border conflict grows into a struggle the whole world is watching. In 1754: Conquest, The French and Indian War you choose a side and work with your fellow players to control the map. The French players fight as Canadian militia or as French troops, the British players as colonial militia or as British soldiers. Both sides can form alliances with the native peoples, though the French start with an advantage. Talking things through is everything: together you decide where to attack, where to defend and how to bring in your reinforcements. Forts give defenders a chance to absorb blows, rally points make your alliances strong, and the port areas determine how quickly you can bring new troops from overseas. The game ends as soon as the Treaty of Paris is signed. Whoever holds the most cities and forts at that moment wins. Expect lively discussions, exciting choices and evenings full of history at the table.
