Watergate: in June 1972, five men are arrested in the Watergate building in Washington. What looks like a third-rate break-in at the headquarters of the Democratic National Committee catches the attention of journalists Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein of The Washington Post. They want to start a thorough investigation. Over the next two years they discover that the five men were instructed from the White House to spy on political enemies. As a result, Richard Nixon resigns in 1974 to avoid being removed as president. This is the Dutch-language edition.
In Watergate, one player takes the role of a newspaper's editor in chief. The other player represents the head of Nixon's administration. Both players have their own unique set of cards. To win, the head of the administration must keep things moving and reach the end of his term. The editor in chief, on the other hand, tries to gather enough evidence to link two informants directly to the president. Of course, the head of the administration will do everything possible to hide the evidence, and perhaps make it disappear altogether. Can the secret informant, also known as “Deep Throat”, tip the balance? An exciting race against the clock begins…
