The earth is getting too crowded. The big cities are bursting at the seams and humanity is looking for a new home. You will find it on the ocean floor. In Underwater Cities you step into the shoes of one of the world's brightest thinkers, with just one task: build the most beautiful and most liveable underwater world there is. You found your own realm beneath the waves. You gather resources, lay out a network of transport tunnels and place cities where people can really live. Kelp farms provide food, desalination plants provide water, and in laboratories you develop the technology you need. Everything revolves around the cards you play. Pick a card that matches your action and you gain an extra benefit. Sometimes an action is so important that you take it anyway, even if the card does not match. And sometimes a card's benefit is so good that your action hardly matters. Weighing up those choices well is the whole art of the game. Underwater Cities is a meaty strategy game for 1 to 4 players, and it won the Diamant d'Or 2019 for good reason. Expect about 150 minutes full of thinking, planning and watching a world slowly grow. Perfect for fans who like a solid challenge and take their time for a real session.
