The world did not end, because Tzolk'in, the Mayan calendar, keeps on turning. And how! The strategic board game Tzolk'in The Mayan Calendar gives worker placement a whole new meaning. The dynamics of the six gears, cleverly linked to one another so that rewards grow as time passes, work phenomenally well.
Can you use them to predict the right time for sowing, for building monuments and for births? On their turn, players place 1 or more workers on the lowest available spots on a gear of their choice. Or they take 1 or more workers off the gears. In this game it is all about timing. When do you put your workers on, and when do you take them off?
With your workers you gain corn or resources. But you can also take all kinds of development, building or temple actions. The temples and crystal skulls are important in the game. The game ends when the central Tzolk'in wheel has made one full turn.
During the game there are four feeding days, on which your workers (you start with 3, but can keep up to 6 at work) have to be fed. If you cannot give one of your workers enough food, it costs you points. Buildings and monuments can also be worth a lot of points. The player with the most points after the full turn and the final scoring wins the game.
