October 1776. The struggle for New York is drawing to a close and General Washington has his back against the wall. Facing him stands General Howe, who wants only one thing: to crush the rebellion in a single blow. In The Battle of White Plains: Twilight of the New York Campaign October 28th–31st, 1776 you step right into this forgotten but thrilling battle. For four days you command two large armies, while the rain upsets your plans time after time. This is volume 10 in the award-winning Battles of the American Revolution series by designer Mark Miklos. You can choose from three scenarios: the real fight for Chatterton Hill, a 'what if' scenario about October 31st, and a full four-day campaign with no fewer than 42 turns. Each player gets 26 chance cards, split across three decks, so every game plays out differently and stays close to history. Special rules bring the atmosphere of this battle to life. Think of rainy turns, restoring your army's morale, scorched earth tactics and the changing quality of the American militia. Even Washington's own fighting strength is uncertain in this early phase of the war. Can you break through the American line as Howe? Or will you hold the high ground as Washington? A solid adventure for two players who love history and depth.
