In Petris you step into the shoes of a scientist who has to keep bacteria under control. Sounds relaxing? Think again. Those little critters are always hungry and go looking for food in the petri dishes around them. Leave a bacterium alone for too long? Then it eats its fill and starts to multiply. Exactly what you do not want. The game is all about timing and overview. You steer your bacteria so that they spread less. In each round of infection you score points for every dish in which you have more bacteria than your opponent. And that is just what you want to avoid, because in the end the winner is not the player with the most points, but the one with the fewest. A short and sharp game for two or three people, done in fifteen minutes. Perfect for in between other games or for a quick competitive round. Easy to learn, but with enough bite to get your brain working.
