This edition is in French and Dutch. The sun shines brightly on the forest canopy, and the trees use this wonderful energy to grow and to develop their beautiful leaves.
Sow your seeds wisely and the shadows of your growing trees can slow your opponents down, but do not forget that the sun travels around the forest.
Welcome to the world of Photosynthesis: the green strategy board game!
A game based on the mechanism of photosynthesis. Photosynthesis is a process in which sunlight is used as an energy source to turn carbon dioxide (CO2) and water (H2O) into glucose and oxygen. Glucose is a form of sugar that plants need to survive.
The rounds in Photosynthesis have a simple and logical structure. Each round the sun turns a little, so a different group of trees stands in the light while others disappear into the shade. It is your job to make clever use of the light your trees catch. With those light points you can buy seeds and small trees, plant new seeds, or let your trees grow into majestic specimens that produce even more light points. Once everyone has taken their actions, the sun moves on and the next round begins.
The goal? Collect the most victory points by harvesting your grown trees. But watch out: this is a game of pure tactics. Luck plays no part. The game is easy to understand, but your ability to plan cleverly and strategically decides whether you win or not.
Another nice aspect is the fixed playing time. The game ends as soon as the sun has completed a set number of rounds. That way you know exactly how long a game takes, which makes it ideal for both short and slightly longer game nights. Photosynthesis is a beautiful strategy game that surprises you again and again.
