Ostia

Put on your sandals and step into the busy port city of Ostia. It is the time of Emperor Trajan and the quays are full of ships, wares and traders looking to grow. You lead a large fleet across the sea, trade goods and expand the harbour. The goal? To become the most celebrated merchant of your time. Ostia uses a special mechanism: the Mancala system. You pick one of the six spaces on your own board and take all the ships lying there. You then spread them one by one, clockwise, over the other spaces. Where your last ship lands decides which action you may take. That way you build new ships, make existing ships bigger or place a building in the harbour. You collect resources, deliver goods and discover special animals from faraway regions to keep everyone happy, both at home and overseas. Ostia plays with 1 to 4 players and a game takes about two hours. Plenty of time to dream away together about the Rome of old and to fight for the best spot at sea.
