Antarctica, 1938. Hidden deep in the ice, a secret base was built, far from the eyes of the rest of the world. All went well, until scouts vanished without a trace. Witnesses spoke of strange creatures: worm-like beasts up to two metres long and monsters as tall as a house. In Neuschwabenland you play out a battle that never really happened, but one that grabs you by the throat right away. This is a tactical battle on a hex board, for two players. On one side stand the troops with their advanced equipment and special units, such as the flying machine Haunebu. The only problem is that the bitter cold makes it hard to get all your men moving. On the other side the creatures fight with sheer numbers. They lack their opponent's firepower, but up close they are deadly. And then there is the Tripod, a monstrous killing machine you had better stay away from. Every turn you choose where to commit your forces and how much risk you dare to take. The combat system is inspired by Space Crusade and works really well. In the box you will find a board of the Antarctic region, a sheet with 88 counters and six scenarios to play. Prefer to play on your own? Neuschwabenland works perfectly well solo too.
