With two new ways to play, you get more choices and more moments where your opponent does not see what is coming. The fun is in the discard pile. Cards that seemed gone suddenly turn out to be worth gold. Use them to make your creatures stronger, because every boost gives +1 power. That way you build unexpected combinations and keep the other player on their toes. Every game feels different, and that is what makes it so nice to sit down for another one. This is a standalone expansion. You can play it perfectly well without the base game, but you can also mix it with other Mindbug sets.
