Publisher: Decision Games (I)
In Land Without End: The Barbarossa Campaign, 1941 you are right in the middle of the summer of 1941. As the German player you throw yourself into the attack. You want to capture the important cities as quickly as possible and give your opponent no room to breathe. Play the Soviet side and you are mostly on the defensive, but sitting still is not an option. You have to keep hitting back and slow the enemy down wherever you can. The game follows events from the start of the attack on 22 June until early December of that same year. If you manage to advance at lightning speed as the German player, the whole Soviet Union can collapse and the game ends early. Each turn stands for one week, and each space on the map for about 32 kilometres. You move divisions and army corps across a large game map and feel with every move how much the choices weigh. This is a game for two, with a difficulty between easy and medium. If you know other games about the Eastern Front, the rules unique to this game will stand out right away. Think of the way supply works, the capture of Moscow and the Stalin Line. Perfect for two players who love history and want to fight out an exciting battle together.
