Idus Martii

Rome, the Ides of March. A seer warned Caesar that misfortune would strike him. On his way to the theatre Caesar laughed off the prophecy, but fate was already waiting. In Idus Martii you step into the shoes of a senator who secretly takes part in the game of life and death of Julius Caesar. Will he stay alive, or is today his last day? Each round the players receive secret roles. The Consul decides who takes part and hands out the other roles. Two Aediles vote in secret on Caesar's future, and the Praetor may secretly look at a vote and even have it changed. So you are never entirely sure who is on your side. Look for supporters, but keep a close eye on who is only out for their own gain. Every player chooses for, against or neutral in the plot. Before the second round of voting you must discard one of your cards and so pick your real side. Idus Martii is a game full of secrets and intrigue for five to eight players, and in a quarter of an hour you play out a fierce struggle for power and betrayal.
