This is the Dutch-language edition. “Is the cat in this box alive or dead?”, quantum physicist Erwin Schrödinger once wondered, and now so do you! How many living cats are in play this round? Come up with clever claims and outbid each other! Do you raise by one dead cat, or do you doubt the last claim? A simple but fascinating bluffing and bidding game for the whole family!

A question quantum physicist Erwin Schrödinger asked in his famous experiment, and now it is your turn! In Schrödingers katten you make risky claims about the contents, and above all the number, of the boxes on your hand cards. You keep outbidding each other. A bit of a shame that you only know your own cards. So you have to make a smart estimate, or bluff. But do not push it too far! Because if someone doubts your claim, you all turn over your cards and your statement is checked. You had better be right, otherwise you are out of the game! Which of you manages to be the last one standing?

This bluffing game is for everyone who likes fast and simple poker-like games. Families, groups of students and even experienced players can have a lot of fun with the constant uncertainty and tension that Schrödingers katten offers.

How do you play Schrödingers katten?

Every player gets a character card and a number of cards in hand. Each card shows an empty box, a dead cat, a living cat or a Heisenberg. On your turn you estimate how many of a certain kind are in play. Then the next player does the same, but that player has to bid higher than the previous one. If someone does not want to do that, they doubt the statement of the player before them. Whoever is wrong is knocked out. You keep playing until only 1 player is left. That player wins. On your turn you can also show proof of your claim and swap cards from your hand. Once per game you may also use your character card to decide events in your favour.
