Hanami

Grab your bento box, throw your picnic blanket over your shoulder and find a spot under the trees. The sakura is in full bloom and all over the park people are coming together to enjoy it. This is Hanami, the centuries-old Japanese spring festival where everyone comes to look at the blossoms. You get to sit right in the middle of it. In Hanami you place tiles to claim the loveliest spots in the parks of Japan and Tokyo. Each tile is a picnic blanket belonging to someone from your group. The tiles show how strong your group is and what the people enjoy most: the cherry blossom, a tasty onigiri or an evening under the lanterns. As soon as an activity is completely surrounded by tiles, the matching token goes to the player with the strongest group. Whoever collects the most tokens at the end wins the game. Hanami is a fresh new version of the classic Samurai, designed by Dr. Reiner Knizia. This time it is all about relaxed picnicking among the blossoms and the lanterns. You can choose between two ways to play: on the map of Japan you play with the familiar rules, and the Tokyo setup brings new challenges, new powers and new tiles. That keeps things different every time.
