Put the teapot on, because Elevenses takes you back to the 1920s. You and your fellow players are refined ladies who want to serve the perfect tea moment every morning. Whoever brings the loveliest morning tea to the table earns the most admiration. Sounds peaceful? Behind that polite surface plenty is going on. Each round you start with exactly eleven tea cards. Every card has a number of points and its own action that you must carry out straight away when you play it. And here is the twist: the fewer points a card has, the more powerful its action is. That leads to surprising moves and makes you think carefully about where you place each card. Play a card on a spot where something is already lying and you pick that other card back up. So planning ahead really pays off. As soon as someone plays the 'Elevenses' card, it is time for tea. All players compare their cards and the highest teas score points. Does a player have five points or more? Then she has proved she serves the very best morning tea and she wins the game. A lovely card game for in between, with just that bit of tension you do not see coming.
