In each round of Dixit, one player is the storyteller. That player picks one of the six cards in hand, thinks up a sentence based on the picture on that card and says it out loud without showing the card to the other players. Every other player then chooses the card in hand that fits the sentence best and gives the selected card to the storyteller, without showing it to anyone else.
The storyteller shuffles their own card together with all the cards received and then reveals all of them. Every player except the storyteller then secretly guesses which card belongs to the storyteller. If nobody or everybody guesses the right card, the storyteller scores 0 points and every other player scores 2 points. Otherwise, the storyteller and everyone who found the right answer score 3 points. On top of that, the non-storytelling players score 1 point for every vote their own card receives.
The game ends when the deck is empty or when a player has scored at least 30 points. In both cases the player with the most points wins.
Dixit: Disney Edition contains 84 cards, with each card representing one of the 84 films in the Disney or Pixar catalogue, from Steamboat Willie to Turning Red.
