Aurum

In the lab you have worked together towards the same goal for years. And then it finally happens: ordinary metals turn into pure gold! Now it is all about perfecting your formula. Again and again you experiment, looking for the perfect combination that yields the purest gold. Aurum is a trick-taking game for three or four alchemists. With four players you play in two teams of two, facing off against each other. At the start of each round you predict how many tricks you or your team will win. After that it comes down to timing and daring. The highest card wins, but gold is trump and beats everything. Do you play the lowest card instead? Then you sometimes get a gold card for your collection. If your prediction is exactly right, it earns you double points. A pleasant tension that feels different every round. Whether you work together with your teammate or try it on your own, every choice counts. Whoever has the most points after the rounds earns a gold nugget. And the first player to collect two is the best alchemist at the table. A game that plays nice and smoothly and still makes you think hard about your next move.
