All Aboard

"We're sinking!" shouts the elephant. "That mouse is far too heavy!" "Don't worry," whispers the lion, "if I eat the giraffe, we're bound to lose some weight." That's what it sounds like on board in All Aboard, a cheerful card game in which you try to get your troop of animals safely ashore. But watch out: load a boat too full and it goes straight under. Every player starts with twelve animal cards, from mouse and peacock to lion, bear and elephant. On your turn you place animals in the boats. Some lie face up, others face down, and that makes it exciting. As soon as all the boats are full, the face-down cards are turned over. Two animals of the same kind fall in love, and that scores points. But if three end up in one boat, a quarrel breaks out and the boat sinks. Each animal also has its own power, which lets you turn things upside down. The game lasts four rounds and is over in about twenty minutes. Knowing when to play which animal, that is the secret. But your fellow players love to spoil your plans, so all sorts of things happen that you don't see coming. Perfect for a fun game with two players or with the whole group.
