In Tzolk'in: The Mayan Calendar, everything literally revolves around time. You place your workers on big gears that slowly turn. The longer you leave a worker in place, the more powerful the action becomes once you take him off again. Patience is rewarded here, but you cannot wait forever. Are all your workers on the wheel? Then you have to pick one up, whether you want to or not. Corn is your currency, and you need it to place workers. With the actions you take you can build temples, place crystal skulls deep in dark caves to win the favour of the gods, or fight your way to victory in a completely different way. There are countless paths to victory, and that makes every game different. The game ends after one full rotation of the central wheel. Until then it is all about puzzling, planning and choosing the right moments. A game for two to four players that can easily keep you busy for an hour and a half, and that you will still be talking about long afterwards.
