Tokkuri Taking

Around the table the tokkuri stand ready, the traditional jugs that sake is poured from. In Tokkuri Taking you use the cards in your hand in two ways. You place them down as a jug of your own, or you play them face up to lower the sake in the jugs on the table. Every choice counts, because what you really want in front of you are jugs that are completely empty. On your turn you place a card face down as a tokkuri, or face up. If you play a card face up, you lower the sake level in the jug with the same number. Whoever has empty jugs in front of them at the end of the round earns points. But is there still too much left in them? Then it costs you points instead. And watch out for the player with the lowest score: that player gets to take points from everyone at the table. The game runs over a number of rounds, or until someone has lost all their tokens. Whoever has the most tokens at the end wins. Tokkuri Taking is perfect for a fun evening with two to four players, where you get in each other's way with a smile.
