This is the age of the great voyages of discovery. The British Empire is looking for new trade routes to Asia and sends expedition after expedition to the freezing north. The goal? To find the legendary Northwest Passage. In Through Ice & Snow you travel through the polar world together with your friends and try to become the most celebrated explorer of all. You do that by recording animals, mapping dangerous territory and discovering that hidden passage. You have your own ship and a crew of three officers, each with their own strength. The carpenter takes care of upgrades and constructions, the scientist handles inventions and research, and the captain provides leadership and oversight. Along the way you can take Inuit guides on board. They know exactly where to find fuel, how to improve your sleds and how to lead a hunting party. As the journey continues, new map sections and routes are added, so the board is different every session. Every trip brings its own challenges and events. And in real life there were many: finding food was back-breaking work, exhausted crews often threatened to mutiny and the weather showed no mercy. Can you do it? Then your name will be remembered forever. Fail, and you vanish into the ice and no one ever returns.
