The Princess Bride: A Battle of Wits

Remember that scene where two men sit across from each other and both have to choose which goblet they dare to drink? The Princess Bride: A Battle of Wits brings that tense moment straight to your table. In front of you is a row of goblets, ready to be filled with wine or with poison. And only right at the end does the big moment come: everyone takes a sip. Each player steps into the shoes of a character. On your turn you play a card. Place it on top of a goblet and you decide what is in it. Place it underneath and you bet on that goblet. All the while you try to lead your opponents astray. Bluffing, double bluffing and pretending you know nothing: this is all about nerve and about reading the others. With two players it is a tough duel, with ten it becomes a noisy party full of suspicion and laughter. A game takes about fifteen minutes, so you can easily play a few in a row. Who sees through the lies and stays standing? Only the sharpest mind leaves the table alive.
