The Lie

In The Lie, every card lies. Each card has a number from 1 to 4 and a colour, but as soon as you turn it over, something has changed. Sometimes the colour is wrong, sometimes the number. So you never know exactly what you will end up with. It is up to you to still make the best combinations of the same colour and be the first to get rid of all your cards. The game runs over three rounds. In each round you first build up your hand by taking cards from the middle, all at the same time. You lay them down in order and you may not move them around, so you have to think carefully about what you take. After that you play cards: one single card, or a group of the same colour lying next to each other. Whoever has the most points after three rounds wins the whole game. With few rules and plenty of variety, The Lie is a great choice for almost any group. The youngest players practise with numbers and colours, while older players enjoy the challenge of playing off their cards quickly. And there is always that touch of luck from the lying back side.
