Lisbon, 1755. A heavy earthquake has destroyed the city and a large part of the Portuguese coast. A whole country has to be rebuilt, and that calls for glass. Lots of glass. British businessman William Stephens spots his chance and starts a glass factory that soon becomes famous. In Stephens you step into the shoes of a master glassblower who works in that factory and dreams of fame. Each turn you choose what to do. Will you make beautiful glasswork in the Stephens factory, or send one of your own workers out to unlock new bonuses? You expand your workshop, invest in new business and help create jobs in the city. Your standing grows bit by bit, and by the end you of course want to be the most celebrated glassmaker. After Stephens himself, that goes without saying. The game ends as soon as Napoleon's troops approach the city, and then the player with the most standing wins. Prefer to play alone? There is an extensive solo mode with six scenarios and five tough opponents who will not make it easy for you. A game full of choices, forward planning and that lovely feeling of building something beautiful together.
