Publisher: Decision Games (I)
When Pakistan declared independence from India, the old tension between the two countries flared up into a real war. Since 1947, India and Pakistan have stood opposed and several wars have been fought. There was never a true winner. In Showdown: The Coming Indo-Pakistani War you step into the shoes of one of the two sides and see how a new conflict might unfold. Both countries are nuclear powers today, and that makes this struggle even more charged. The game runs on the Fire & Movement combat system. On your turn you can reinforce your units with support from other troops. Think of attack helicopters or artillery helping out to strike enemy positions. That gives you a battle that comes alive at every level. New and exciting are the tactical nuclear weapons: what starts as an ordinary war can suddenly grow into something far bigger. Losses in Showdown: The Coming Indo-Pakistani War are high, just like in reality. Your units can take hits and weaken, so you have to think carefully about where you attack and how you use your resources. You win with the right moves, enough firepower and a sharp eye on your nuclear weapons. Play it solo or against an opponent, and within about an hour you are in the thick of the fight.
