The most successful merchants try to smuggle exclusive goods into the city, while the ever watchful sheriff keeps a close eye on them. Who manages to get their wares through the gates, and who gets caught?
As a player you step into the shoes of a clever merchant who tries to get goods into Nottingham with bluffing and bribes. But watch out: each round one of the players becomes the sheriff, who may inspect your pouch. Does your load contain honest trade, or are you secretly trying to slip in contraband? The sheriff has to be sharp: does he believe your story, or does he step in? Do you make a smart move by offering a bribe to avoid inspection, or do you put everything on the line and hope your bluff works?
At the end of the game only wealth counts. The merchant with the most gold coins is crowned the winner. This second edition adds even more tension with rules for six players, the Black Market and Deputy Sheriffs. That means higher risks, bigger rewards and even more chances to outwit your opponents. Do you dare take on the challenge and grow your fortune?
