Caesar is dead, stabbed down on the senate floor. And now? Now Rome hangs in the balance. Who will seize power and maybe even turn the Republic into an Empire? In Roma XLI you are one of nine contenders fighting for exactly that. You vote your rivals out of the city, gather support to grow stronger, and form alliances that you break again at just the right moment. Each turn you play a card. Face down as a vote or as a protective legion, or face up as an action or a lasting boost for your character. Then you roll the die and the exile track might creep one step closer. Once the token reaches a red square, the votes are revealed and whoever has the most is sent into exile, unless a legion keeps them safe. Spend gold to play an extra card per turn. You earn that gold by working with your friends and stabbing them in the back when the time is right. Sent into exile? It's not over yet. You can fight your way back in or convince a powerful player to take you on as a loyal follower. The last one standing wins and takes all of Rome. This is the sixth volume in the Dark Cities Series by Facade Games, playing 1 to 9 players in around 40 minutes.
