Raiders of the North Sea

We are right in the middle of the Viking age, and adventure is in the blood. In Raiders of the North Sea you head out as a Viking to impress your chieftain. You do that by raiding unsuspecting settlements. First gather a strong crew, load up enough provisions, then set course north to seize gold, iron and livestock. Glory awaits you in battle, even if you fall and the Valkyries carry you away. It is raiding time, so gather your warriors. The game is all about clever worker placement. On your turn you first place a worker in a building and carry out that action. Then you pick up another worker and immediately take its action too. This is how you prepare your raids in the village: you hire crew, buy provisions and save up for what you will need later. Do you have enough people and goods? Then it is time to plunder. From a small harbour to a heavily guarded fortress, every raid calls for the right preparation and the right colour of worker. Victory points decide who impresses the chieftain most. You earn them through raids, plunder and offerings. But watch how you use your loot, because that often makes the difference between winning and losing. The game ends as soon as the last fortress is nearly plundered, all Valkyries are gone or all offerings have been made. Then you count the points and see who is the proud Viking hero of the evening.
