The Roman Empire stretches to the edges of the known world. Everywhere you look you see the marks of power: in trade, in temples and buildings, in the army and in the games played behind the scenes. In Quorum you step into the sandals of a Roman senator. You want to become the most influential name in Rome, and that means having a finger in every pie. Can you spread your power across all the provinces? Quorum plays nice and quickly and is easy to explain. Over twelve rounds you always draw one card from the shared market and play one card in front of you. Every card has two sides: one shows a province on the board, the other belongs to one of the four groups, namely army, intrigue, architecture and trade. So you always have to choose. Do you go for the lead in a province, or do you collect that one card that pushes your score up? And then there are the god cards, which can shake up the value of provinces just when you least expect it. The rules are quick to pick up, but scoring the most points is a real challenge. At the end you add everything up and see how well you chose. With a playing time of around three quarters of an hour and room for two to seven players, this is a game you could easily talk about all evening. A game worth a whole empire.
