Pier 18

In Pier 18 you step into the shoes of a Victorian pier builder. Your goal? To create the finest seaside pier, reaching further and further into the waves. With only eighteen cards you build your own construction bit by bit. Every card you choose makes your pier bigger, but where you place it decides how many points you score. So think carefully before you add a section. On your turn you take a card from the table and add it to your pier. You want to keep visitors and workers happy, and impress the wealthy patrons at the same time. At the end of each round they choose which pier they support. You also have your own secret goal that you try to reach during the game. That way everyone plays towards a slightly different plan. The game ends when all the cards are gone. Then you count the points and it becomes clear who is the greatest pier builder of their generation. In about fifteen minutes, two or three players enjoy an exciting game full of choices. Perfect for a short, pleasant game night at the kitchen table.
