6 June 1944. Allied soldiers come ashore in occupied France. In Lightning: D-Day you relive that tense day with a deck of cards and an opponent who knows exactly what is at stake. Every famous beach has its own card: Gold, Juno, Sword, Omaha and Utah. The German defenders and the attacking Allied units are in the game too. As the Allied player you must hold every beach by the end of the day. Can you manage that before the deck runs out? With every card that hits the table, the tension rises. At first it looks like you have everything under control, with enough troops everywhere to hold back the Germans. But then an airborne division scatters across the countryside and a panzer division slips through. Suddenly everything is turned upside down. A unit you have already sent to one beach cannot simply be called back to the place where things are really going wrong. Both players have to keep thinking ahead. You are not just playing for this turn, you are preparing for what is still to come. In about half an hour you share a thrilling fight for the coast, where one wrong choice changes the whole picture. Part of the Lightning Game Series.
