Step back in time to the final months of the First World War in Italy. Italia 1917-1918 A Farewell to Arms brings to life the heavy fighting between the Entente forces (Italy, France, Great Britain and the United States) and the Central Powers (Austria-Hungary and Germany). The story runs from the Battle of Caporetto in October 1917 to the Armistice of Villa Giusti in November 1918. This is a wargame for players who love depth and history. You play on large maps that mirror the real battlefield, from the river Adige to Trieste. There is an overview map for the whole campaign and a zoomed-in map with larger spaces, where you focus on the heart of the fighting around the Piave, Monte Grappa and the Asiago plateau. With 700 counters you field entire armies, from the tough Italian Alpini to the formidable German Alpenkorps. Six scenarios let you choose between a short game or a long afternoon full of strategy. Want to go even deeper? Then play the complete campaign with the advanced rules. You rebuild destroyed units, manage your reserves and draw event cards with telling names such as "Rommel" or "Hemingway". A campaign like that lasts 23 to 36 turns and keeps you at the table for hours. Prefer to play alone? That works too, because this game is suitable for one or two players. Please note: the rules and cards are in English.
