Into the Pocket!

In Into the Pocket! you step right into the middle of a Second World War winter. The German armies are trapped in the pocket at Stalingrad, and your task is a heavy one: use three panzer divisions to punch a hole in the enemy line, big enough to save the encircled 6th Army. Will you manage it, or will you be overrun by a stream of Soviet troops that simply keeps coming? This is a game for two players that harks back to the classic wargames of the past. You play on a beautiful map of about 30 by 47 centimetres, drawn by Ania Ziolkowska, and move 88 counters across the battlefield. It is all about the right decision at the right moment. One wrong move and your attack bogs down in the snow. Thanks to its clear set-up, Into the Pocket! is also a great choice if you have not played many games like this before. You learn the rules quickly and are soon leaning over the map together.
