Step into the world of the ancient Celts, where mist hangs over the hills and clans battle for the title King of the Island. Inis 3rd Edition brings this legendary classic back in a beautiful new look, with atmospheric artwork by James Fitzpatrick. Around the table you feel that mix of diplomacy, cunning and adventure right away. You do not win through brute force, but with a feel for timing and a good overview. At the start of each round you choose four action cards during the assembly. With those you move your clans, build sanctuaries or explore new land. There are three ways to become king: through leadership, by spreading your clans across many territories, or through the power of religion. Players who read the game well and dare to pass at the right moment often get the furthest. A common trap for beginners is thinking this is a fighting game. Wiping out other clans actually works against you, because peace between the families often pays off more. Of course blows do land sometimes, because the Celtic clans will not always be tamed. With hero tales about heroes and gods such as Cuchulainn, the Dagda and Lugh, every round takes on new colour. A game you will want to play again and again.
