The invitation almost left you breathless with excitement. Eccentric inventor professor Archibald Timely is opening his stately manor to visitors for the first time in years. What kind of remarkable invention would he unveil? The moment you push open the front door, the silence strikes you. Only your own footsteps echo through the hallways. You wander through the huge house, to the farthest corner and back again, over and over and over... Wait a second. You have the strangest feeling of déjà vu. Can you escape before it is too late? The Holiday Hijinks #6: The Groundhog Gambit is an escape room in the form of a card game, and all with just 18 cards. Together you solve one puzzle after another to unravel a great mystery. The tasks test your attention to detail, your feel for language and your ability to think outside the box. Please note: you need a good command of English to play. The game works with a free website that you can open on any phone or computer. Once you have cracked a puzzle, you enter the answer and the site tells you right away whether it is correct and which card to pick up next. Getting stuck is not a problem, because there is a hint system that helps you along step by step without giving away the solution. You can even use items on the cards, just like in a classic computer adventure. Expect around two hours of puzzling fun. The game does not get used up, so feel free to pass it on to the next group afterwards.
