Hanabi

Picture this: it is evening, the sky is dark and you and your friends want to put together the finest fireworks show of the year. In Hanabi you lay out the colours neatly in order, from low to high, so that every rocket shoots into the sky at just the right moment. Sounds easy, right? Here is the catch: you are not allowed to see your own cards. You hold them the wrong way round, with the pictures facing your fellow players. They see exactly what you are holding, but you are in the dark. Only by giving each other clever hints will you work out which card to play. Talk things through well together and a dazzling show will slowly grow above your heads. Hanabi is a game you really play together, because you win or lose as a team. No arguing over points, just that wonderful feeling when a hint lands perfectly and another rocket shoots up. For 2 to 5 players, ages 8 and up, and in just under half an hour you get an adventure full of tension and teamwork.
