In Freezing Inferno you step back into the bitter winter of 1939. Finland and the Soviet Union face each other in a battle fought on a snow-covered battlefield. You and your opponent each take a side: one player leads Finland, the other the USSR. Using hexes and counters you move your troops across the map, while the cold and the harsh conditions keep putting your plans to the test. This is a game for fans who like depth. It calls for strategy, a touch of diplomacy and a combat system that keeps giving you choices. The set-up changes every time and cards bring surprising twists, so no two games play out the same way. Count on an afternoon or evening together at the table, because a game lasts between three and six hours. The Soviet player must capture and hold two of the three important Finnish cities, while also keeping his own home cities under control. If he does not manage that before the end of the eighth round, the player of Finland wins. Every move counts, and the tension stays with you until the very last moment.
