Fitna: The Global War in the Middle East takes you to one of the most complex regions of our time. This is a strategic wargame for two to six players in which you replay the armed conflicts in the Middle East from 2012 into the near future. You choose from ten scenarios, some based on real events, others on what may still come. Think of the fight against ISIS in Iraq and Syria, the Kurdish uprising, the tensions between Sunnis and Shiites and the involvement of countries such as Russia, Turkey, Israel and the West. This is not a game you play on the side. Each turn stands for two months of real time and is divided into several phases. You play event cards, bring in reinforcements, check your supply, move your troops and launch attacks. Every player holds four cards and has to think carefully about how to use them: for an event, for extra action points or to support a battle. Every choice counts. What makes this game special is its depth. You really gain insight into the intentions of all parties and get a better understanding of what is going on in this complicated area. It is no surprise that Fitna: The Global War in the Middle East is used by experts and analysts of the French Ministry of Defence to test possible scenarios. For players who love a real challenge and want to puzzle over strategy together for hours, this is an adventure you will never forget.
