Publisher: Decision Games (I)
Kansas, 1854. A new law gives the people who settle here the right to choose for themselves: allow slavery or not. What follows is chaos. Opponents of slavery and supporters pour into the territory, not to build something together, but to fight each other. In Bleeding Kansas you step into the shoes of one of these sides and try to seize control of Kansas. The heart of this game lies in the cards. Every card tells of an event or a person that shaped the conflict. Play one and you set actions in motion: influence settlers, build up troops, conquer areas, bend politics to your will, burn towns to the ground or rebuild them. You take turns, and the order in which the cards hit the table does not just decide who wins. It also writes the story of this turbulent period. This is a game for two, where you face each other in a struggle that grips you for hours. Count on about three hours together at the table, full of choices, tension and surprising twists. Suitable from age 14, for anyone who loves history and a tough head-to-head contest.
