What if the war in Russia had gone differently? Beyond the Urals: Campaign in Russia, 1942 takes you to a timeline that never really existed. In this game the Germans have already beaten the Red Army during their 1941 attack, but the Soviet Union does not surrender. The fight goes on, further east, all the way beyond the Urals. You decide how this alternative story ends. This is a game for two players who like depth. The remains of the Red Army gather around the big factories beyond the Urals and hope to lure the Germans into one last, decisive battle. One turn stands for seven days, and the units range from army corps to complete armies. You have plenty of time to make your plans, because a game easily takes five to ten hours. The box contains a large colour map, a sheet with 176 counters and a clear sixteen-page rulebook. The rules are easy to follow, so you can join in even if you are new to this kind of game. You play with two, but the game also works very well solo. Do not forget to have a six-sided die ready before you start.
