What if the United States were to fall apart? America Falling: The Coming Civil War makes you face that question. You and your opponent play out the first year of a civil war that spreads across almost the entire country. One of you takes command of the conservative red forces, the other directs the liberal blue troops. And then there are the loose groups that go their own way, from an independent Texas to all kinds of other movements that will not simply take orders. What makes this game special is that no side ever starts the same way twice. The division of the territory depends on cities that are determined at random, so you have to make a new plan every time. One army has suddenly become two armies, and that means nothing is certain any more. Chains of command, supply, loyalty: everything can turn out differently than you thought. During each turn you switch between actions at high speed. You send reinforcements, try to win enemy units over to your side, or launch an attack. This is a game for players who love depth and long evenings. Expect four to six hours in which you keep making new choices and the tension slowly builds. It is part of the Absent Superpower Series and is made for two players who want to sink their teeth together into an impressive struggle. In the end, it all comes down to the balance between key terrain and the courage both sides have left.
