In Adamastor you come aboard as the captain of a Portuguese ship in the age of the great voyages of discovery. The open sea lies ahead of you, with all the riches and dangers that come with it. You can choose to replay Vasco da Gama's journey to India, or plot your own route, with the map different every time. That way no voyage ever feels the same. Each round you have to stay on top of the dangers. The weather turns, storms come out of nowhere, and your crew grows tired, restless and sometimes ill. Let things get out of hand and mutiny breaks out, ending your journey. With a deck of 54 cards, some markers and a single pawn on the map, you decide how to hold your course. Every card can help you or work against you, and certain combinations set off events that you had better see coming. A game of Adamastor takes about fifteen minutes, solo or with two players. Playing together is especially exciting: discussing the next move, hoping for the right card and braving that dangerous deck side by side. Play your cards well and a journey full of adventure and reward awaits. But stay alert, because with every draw from the deck, fate can strike.
