Publisher: Decision Games (I)
October 1944. For the first time, a German city is right in the line of fire. The American troops know it will be hard, because the German soldiers do not give up anywhere without a fight. Around the city lies the infamous Westwall, with kilometres of concrete bunkers and tank traps. In Aachen: First to Fall you step right into this exciting battle and feel the pressure the soldiers felt back then. The game revolves around the new Fire & Movement combat system. During your turn you can back up units with fire support, from mortars to fighter-bombers. That way you build up an attack step by step. Send a reconnaissance battalion at an enemy position, for example, and enemy planes may suddenly come diving in. You need more support to break through, but your resources are limited. Every choice counts. The fighting makes you feel how hard the real battle was. Units take losses, and the fight is decided by movement, firepower and the clever use of your resources. Whether you play solo or with two players, you are soon deep into this historical battle. Expect about two hours full of tension and sharp decisions.
