The year is 500 BC. The mighty Persian empire sets course for Greece, ready to trample everything in its path. The Greeks face overwhelming odds, but they have sharp tactics, brave hoplites and fast triremes. In 300: Earth & Water you step into the shoes of one of these two great powers and fight for control of the eastern Mediterranean. One player leads the Greeks around Athens, the other commands the Persians. Across five campaigns you try to hold more cities than your opponent. You build up armies, buy cards and use them to play events or to move your fleet and troops. Every game plays out differently, because the order in which everything happens keeps turning things upside down. The rules are quick to pick up and a game takes about forty minutes. Even so, there is surprising depth here. Both sides have plenty of options to think about, so victory never comes easily. A great duel for two players who love history and strategy.
