Wolven

This is the Dutch-language edition. These pack animals seek each other out to hunt prey and to breed. But not all packs get along peacefully. They all want control of the territory, and they will do anything to get it.

Wolven is a strategy game in which you lead your own pack of wolves. You try to claim areas, grow your pack, develop your pack's traits, build dens and hunt prey. All of these things bring you benefits and victory points in different ways.

Your turns are driven by double-sided terrain tiles. Each turn you flip over a number of them, depending on the action you choose. You may then carry out an action on a space of that terrain, as long as it is within reach of your wolves. That way you can move your wolves, build shelters to improve your pack's traits, or upgrade your shelters into dens. Some actions, however, can only be carried out with your alpha wolves, and sadly you do not have many of those.

You score the most points by controlling certain areas at the moment the moon reaches a certain phase. To do that you need the most pieces in such an area. Since only 2 pieces are allowed per space, fierce competition arises between the players' packs.

Wolven is a highly thematic and challenging board game.
The interaction between the packs and the variable board mean that time after time you have to explore new strategies and options to claim the win. The beautiful artwork and the wooden wolves make for an intense gaming experience.
