Baghdad, around the year 820. The city is buzzing, and beyond the horizon lie unknown lands, wild rivers and a starry sky that no one has properly mapped yet. In Wayfarers of the South Tigris you set out as an explorer, cartographer and astronomer. You leave the safety of the city and travel out to record everything you come across. Along the way you take good care of your caravan full of workers and equipment. You make the earth, the water and the heavens accessible on your maps, and in between you keep returning to the House of Wisdom to write your findings down neatly. Every discovery earns points, and you can also inspire nobles or gain influence with the guilds of science, trade and exploration. Whoever has the most points at the end makes the biggest impression on the caliph. You play with one to four people and a game takes about ninety minutes. Would you rather travel alone? Then it works perfectly well as a solo game. A game for fans who love planning and enjoy losing themselves in a story that slowly unfolds before their eyes.
