Vinhos (Portuguese for 'wines') is an economic game about making wine. Did you know that Portugal, despite its small size, is one of the largest wine producers in the world?

In this game you develop estates with vineyards and wineries, produce wines of the highest quality and then sell them for profit and victory points.

Six years in one evening

The game takes place over six years while you work on expanding your businesses in the different regions of Portugal.

You need to hire skilled oenologists (wine experts), because they tell you which wine will taste best in the end. But without a farmer who is at least as skilled, your wine will of course never come off the land. On top of that you have to keep a close eye on the changing weather, because it affects production at the start of each year!

Vinhos is dead, long live Vinhos Deluxe!

The classic game by Vital Lacerda (Vinhos) gets the deluxe treatment from Eagle Gryphon Games. The same team behind The Gallerist came together again to create this stunning new edition. The 'old' Vinhos has been thoroughly reworked and exciting new gameplay has been added to this long-time favourite and highly strategic game.

New edition

The Vinhos Deluxe Edition contains completely new artwork by Ian O'Toole, all the components and improved rules of the original game Vinhos. And, as if that were not enough, a new simplified version of the game. Using a double-sided board, players can choose between the original Reserve version from 2010 or the new Special Vintage 2016 version!

Differences between the first edition of Vinhos and Vinhos Deluxe

• Double-sided player boards can be used in both versions of the game
• A ninth region has been added
• A new estate has been added
• The Farmer (a new character) has been added
• The wine fair has been streamlined with new mechanisms
• 18 action tiles to replace the manager's actions
• 22 multiplier tiles for final scoring
• The bank action has been removed
• The initial Vintage tile with zero has been removed
• The export action has been optimised for 2 players
• A few minor rules, such as the limit on experts, have been removed and the action was replaced by another vineyard action
• No exceptions to the number of things you can do on your turn; now you can buy, hire, sell or export 1 or 2 things with each action
• The gameplay explanation has been considerably shortened
• New solo rules designed for the new version of the game
